Open Arms Wesleyan Church
Hannah grew up in Phoenix. She met her husband at their church, Open Arms, when they were in elementary school. They started dated in high school and were married in May 2016 after Eli graduated college. Both Eli and Hannah graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It is a church affiliated school, and almost all of Hannah’s relatives have attended it. Hannah finished her last semester student teaching at Bartlesville High School, teaching 11th grade U.S. History, and an elective called Leadership. She graduated with her Bachelors in Secondary Education Social Studies in December 2016.
Shortly after getting married, Hannah and Eli adopted their dog, Dudley. He is an amazing mutt and can do wrong. His favorite activities include barking at trees, destroying squeakers, and de-fluffing toys as fast as possible. He’s also an A+ cuddler.
After Hannah graduated, she, Eli, and Dudley moved back to Phoenix to be closer to family. Hannah began working at a bridal boutique, where she was promoted to manager. Working with brides, and their families, has taught Hannah a lot about patience.
At home, Hannah enjoys playing with Dudley, baking, watching unnecessary amounts of Netflix, and planning Disney vacations that will probably never happen. She’s excited to be able to get more involved in her church and small group.
Hannah will begin her first year of teaching next school year at the new Valley Christian Junior High as the social studies teacher. She is unbelievably excited to use the gifts that God has given her and to be following His path for her life. She believes that a strong foundation in faith will encourage any student to achieve their best, and she can’t wait to help build that foundation.
