Tony was born in Honolulu, Hawaii (before it became the 50th state), and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of ten. He attended St. John’s Junior College in Winfield, Kansas, and then went on to Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He earned his Master of Education Degree in Science with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction at Arizona State University in 2006.
Tony has been teaching for 40 years. He places a high value on Christian Education and believes that incorporating the Word of God in education empowers students and helps them build a solid foundation of Godly principles in everyday life. He has a passion for teaching science. His hands on, minds on teaching approach gets students excited about science and challenges them to excel.
Prior to joining VCJH, he taught in Arkansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, and has been teaching in Arizona since 2001. His career experiences in both Christian and Public education has helped him refine his skills in the classroom.
Tony and his wife, Jeanne, have been married for 27 years. They like to ride bikes, attend plays/musicals, and travel. They have one daughter, four sons, and five grandchildren. When not in the classroom, Tony enjoys watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers! Playing guitar, golfing, and quilting are a few of his hobbies.
As members of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Tony and Jeanne are involved in the Men’s and Women’s Ministries.
